Have you ever been cooking and found that your soup became too salty, or your curry too spicy, and weren’t sure how to fix it? Here are some tips on how to fix your flavors so you don’t have to start over. Always make sure to taste your food while you’re cooking in order to be able to change up the flavors before it’s too late.
- Too salty? Add acid or sweetener, such as lemon, lime, white sugar, or agave.
- Too sweet? Add an acid or a spice to even it out, such as lemon, lime, or cayenne powder.
- Too spicy? Add a fat or a sweetener, such as butter, olive oil, sour cream, agave or honey.
- Too bland? Add something salty or savory to give your food a boost, such as soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste or parmesan cheese.
