Self Care On Hard Body Image Days

It can be stressful when you’re not feeling good about how your body looks. These tips can help you stay calm and get through difficult moments.

1. Help your body feel better.

Wear comfy clothes, use anti-chafing balm, and rest if needed. Your body deserves care.

2. Address emotions.

Write in a journal, listen to music, or talk to someone. Let yourself feel emotions instead of holding them in.

3. Find the cause.

Did something trigger these feelings—like stress, comments, or an event? Be kind to yourself. It’s not always about your body.

4. Avoid social media.

If it makes you feel worse, take a break. Avoid comparing yourself to others.

5. Try opposite actions.

If you want to hide, do the opposite—call a friend, go outside, or move your body.

6. Move for joy.

Dance, walk, or stretch. Movement helps your mood, not just your body.

7. Accept the feeling.

It’s okay to have bad days. Feelings pass. Be gentle with yourself.

8. Eat enough.

Don’t skip meals. Food is fuel and part of caring for yourself.
