This year has been tough. For some of us, we may have seen our body change. Stress has been high. Our appetite may have been increased. All of this is OK. Lets practice some self compassion for the year we have experienced.
What is self compassion?
Self compassion is comforting and caring for yourself during difficult times. There are three parts of self compassion.
Kindness. Understand the situation instead of judging.
Humanity. Recognize that pain is part of the being human. Other people probably have felt this way too.
Mindfulness. Be aware of what you are feeling in the moment.
Practicing self compassion has shown to improve mental health. It can also decrease body anxiety, as well as improve motivation towards self kindness.
