Beach season is here! A day spent by the water is more enjoyable with plenty of tasty snacks on hand. Packing a combination of cold foods and non-perishable items will add variety to your summer day. Below are some options you may want to pack for your next day at the beach.
 
 
Foods for the Cooler
  • Salads
    • Examples: Garden, Pasta, Bean, Fruit
  • Yogurt
  • Deli meat
  • Cheese
  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Dips
    • Examples: Guacamole, Hummus, Tzatziki
 
Non-Refrigerated Snacks
  • Whole fruits
    • Examples: Apples, Bananas, Oranges
  • Sandwiches made with nut or seed butter
    • Examples: PB & J, PB & Banana, Nutella & PB
  • Mixed nuts
  • Granola bars
  • Crunchy and Salty snacks
    • Examples: Tortilla Chips, Popcorn, Pretzels

Quick Delicious Trail Mix
 
Ingredients
1 and 1/2  cups roasted salted sunflower seeds
1 and 1/2 cups roasted pumpkin seeds
1 cup roasted chopped almonds
1 cup roasted chopped cashews
1 cup roasted chopped macadamia nuts
½ cup roasted chopped walnuts
½ cup roasted salted pistachio
½ cup dried cranberries
½ cup raisins
½ cup M&M’s or semisweet chocolate chips (optional)
 
Directions
1.Combine all the above ingredients and store in an airtight jar.
2.This trail mix is good for 7-10 days at room temperature. Refrigerate if you plan to keep it longer than 10 days.
